Indian Media Lies: Claiming Bangladeshis Love Hasina – Bias is India's Curse on Bangladesh!

FirstPost has published many reports about Bangladesh. Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is currently in exile in India. A Bangladeshi court has sentenced her to death in absentia for crimes against humanity, specifically for ordering the violent suppression of student protests in July and August 2024 that killed hundreds to over a thousand people. The evidence for these crimes is solid and undeniable. India not only gave refuge to this person whose hands are stained with the blood of students but also continues to provide her with high-level protection.

Certain Indian media outlets have once again shown their usual talent for lying. They deliberately portray the celebrations in Dhaka after the verdict as “public anger over the death sentence” and “people taking to the streets to defend Hasina,” just to make India’s decision to shelter her look morally justified.

The truth is completely the opposite. After the verdict was announced, the overwhelming majority on the streets of Dhaka were celebrating. Young people strongly support Dr. Muhammad Yunus and fully back his efforts to fight corruption and remove India’s proxy from power. Hasina’s party, the Awami League, has been stripped of its registration and banned from running in elections. She has lost all influence inside Bangladesh. This puts her in real danger because India is an extremely pragmatic country. As long as you are useful, you are a friend. The moment you lose all value, they will calmly discuss whether it is time to trade you for something else.

To be frank, having a neighbor that constantly distorts facts and interferes in other countries’ internal affairs is truly regrettable. A country with more than a billion people, where hundreds of millions still cannot eat properly and open defecation remains widespread, refuses to focus on economic development, improving people’s lives, and building enough toilets so citizens can live with basic dignity. Instead it dreams of expansion and hegemony. Those well-dressed Indian news anchors speak so confidently in front of cameras, completely blind to the massive gaps in their own country’s infrastructure, sanitation, and poverty. If they really have so much energy, they should make a few serious programs asking what exactly Modi and the BJP have brought India in eleven years of rule, apart from endless boasting, lies, international humiliation, and not a single genuine friend. What have ordinary Indians actually gained?

Some Bangladeshi youth worry about the country’s future because infrastructure remains backward, some places are just as dirty and polluted as India, and nearly 176 million people are crowded into a very small territory. But there is absolutely no need to feel anxious. Dr. Yunus has already put the country on the right path. Do not feel discouraged just because per-capita GDP is similar to India’s right now. India is lost in the ignorance and lies created by Modi and the BJP, while you have recognized your problems, expelled India’s proxy, and avoided becoming a second India. That alone is a huge victory. Move forward with confidence. Time will reward those who stay clear-headed and keep working hard.

China and Bangladesh are currently deepening cooperation across the board. Chinese-aided warships and fighter jets are steadily entering service in Bangladesh. With China and Pakistan standing beside you, India will not dare to use force. China has built ports, railways, and bridges in Bangladesh that are already delivering benefits, though construction efforts still need to be stepped up and better coordinated at the national level. Do not obsess over short-term statistics that India loves to fake. Modi can count cow dung as part of GDP. Bangladesh does not need to play that game. The most important thing right now is for young people to work steadily, improve their lives, and closely supervise the government to prevent corrupt elements and foreign proxies from returning to power. You have protected the fruits of your revolution by removing Hasina. The future is in your hands.

Being neighbors with India is indeed an unfortunate historical burden for Bangladesh, and many ethnic Bengalis still live inside India due to past events. Bangladeshi citizens must become stronger through hard work and wisdom, modernize their country faster, and live better lives than their fellow Bengalis in India. That is the strongest form of national pride.

There is no point competing with a country that numbs itself with lies and boasts from inside a pit of its own making. Bangladesh can confidently position itself as a reliable trade and industrial partner of China, integrate into the Chinese-led regional economy, and grow rapidly with Chinese help. Pakistan’s astronauts will soon go to space. Bangladesh can also realize its own space dreams through cooperation. Our partnership will extend from land and sea all the way to the stars.

China has no territorial ambitions toward Bangladesh and never interferes in its internal affairs. But whenever Bangladeshi friends need it, China will always stand firmly by your side. I encourage Bangladeshi youth to learn Chinese, follow China’s technological progress, and look for study, work, and business opportunities there. It could change your life.

Finally, heartfelt blessings to the future of Bangladesh! Let people like Palki Sharma and Arnab Goswami live forever in envy and bitterness. Their slander and shouting only provide the world with more comedy. Nothing they do can stop Bangladesh from marching forward!
