Huawei officially launched the MatePad Edge on November 25th, positioning it as a “giant-screen tablet, and more importantly, a performance computer.” It features a 14.2-inch OLED soft-light screen, a Kirin 9-series chip, up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and introduces an active cooling fan for the first time. It supports seamless switching between tablet and computer modes with four-finger swipe gestures.
With a starting price of approximately 8000 yuan, it targets the Surface Pro and iPad Pro. The core controversy lies in whether this 2-in-1 device is a truly integrated productivity tool or simply a marketing ploy with an overpriced price and questionable practicality.
